Full-Time and Part-Time Firefighter
The Creston Fire Department is hiring for the positions of Career and Part-Time Firefighter. CFD has 5 Career Firefighters, 6 Part-Time Firefighters and 15 Volunteer Firefighters. Full-Time is a 24/48 schedule and Part-Time shifts are 7 pm-7 am Monday through Friday and 8 am-8 am Saturday and Sunday. CFD is a multifaceted fire department answering 700+ calls for service annually.
-Certified Firefighter I with 3 years of experience
-Valid Driver's License with ability to obtain a Class B CDL with airbrake and tanker endorsements within 6 months of hire
-Driver Operator Certification within 6 months of hire (CFD to start a class on April 1st)
-Completed application is due by 5:00 pm on February 19, 2019
Full-Time/Civil Service Requirements:
-High School Diploma or GED
-Certified Firefighter I
-Valid Driver's License
-No Felony Convictions
-Written and Physical Fitness Exams
-Completed application is due by 5:00 pm on March 11, 2019 with testing to be held on March 16, 2019
Full-Time Police Officer
The Creston Police Department is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Police Officer. Applications are being accepted until 3:00 pm on February 26, 2019. A POST exam will be administered at SWCC, Room 122 in the Tech Center, at 10:00 am on March 9, 2019. The physical agility test will be administered following the POST exam at the Creston High School track (subject to change for weather). Individuals that successfully pass both exams will be put on a civil service eligibility list which will be good for one year.
